Cloud-Based and AI-Assisted Services

Blackwood Blue uses cloud-based technology and digital service providers in operating our business and delivering professional services.

These may include client and practice management systems, document storage and management platforms, email and communication services, accounting systems, automation tools and other professional software.

We may also use artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted technologies to support aspects of our work, including administrative tasks, research, drafting, document review, summarisation, data organisation and other professional functions.

Where appropriate, information relating to a client matter may be processed using these systems.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that our use of cloud-based and AI-assisted services is appropriate having regard to the nature and sensitivity of the information involved and that reasonable privacy and security safeguards are in place.

We do not rely solely on AI-generated material when providing professional migration advice. AI-assisted technologies are used as supporting tools, and professional advice and work undertaken on behalf of clients remains subject to appropriate professional oversight and judgement.

We take reasonable steps to limit the personal and sensitive information provided to AI-assisted services to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose and, where appropriate, use de-identification or other measures to reduce the disclosure of identifying information.

Our technology providers, systems and processes may change from time to time as our business and available technologies develop.

07

Overseas Disclosure and Storage

Migration matters frequently involve individuals, businesses, government bodies and other organisations located outside Australia.

In providing our services, personal information may therefore be disclosed to overseas recipients where reasonably necessary for your matter.

Some technology, cloud and AI service providers used by Blackwood Blue may also store or process information on servers located outside Australia.

Where required by the Privacy Act, we take reasonable steps in relation to overseas disclosures and the handling of personal information by overseas recipients.

The countries in which information may be stored or processed may vary depending on the service providers we use and the circumstances of the relevant matter.
