Permanent residence pathways for employer-sponsored workers
Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186)
The primary permanent residence visa for employer-sponsored workers. Available via the Temporary Residence Transition stream for existing TSS (Subclass 482) holders, or the Direct Entry stream for new nominations.
Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Subclass 494) → Permanent Residence (Subclass 191)
Workers sponsored under the SESR visa in regional Australia can apply for permanent residence after 3 years of living and working in the region.
Labour Agreement Permanent Residence
Workers sponsored under a Labour Agreement may have access to permanent residence pathways under the terms of the agreement, which can include modified eligibility requirements.
State/Territory Nominated Pathways
State and territory governments can nominate workers for permanent residence through the General Skilled Migration program, providing an additional pathway for workers who meet the relevant criteria.
